Student Support - Applications closed on 15 October

The LOC of the GeoCongress 2023 is in the process of securing sponsorship to enable us to support student attendance at the conference. Student support will cover the costs of registration and shared accommodation + breakfast at a Stellenbosch University residence for three nights. Transport and other meals will not be covered. These opportunities will be limited and we ask that you apply well in advance and provide all supporting documentation in order to be considered for this opportunity.

Terms and Conditions for Student Support (Criteria)

 1.     Only online applications will be considered.

2.     You must be a bona fide student (postgrad or undergrad). Please upload a certification of student status, from HoD of your department.

3.     You have to present at the meeting and be accepted for either a poster or oral presentation. Please ensure you submit your abstract by the 15 October 2022, no late abstracts will be considered. This step is part of your student support application, DO NOT resubmit your abstract under the abstract submission page.

4.     You must submit a brief research statement and motivation for participation in the conference (maximum length: one page).

5.     For international applications; the student’s host country must be on the list of developing countries, or reasons for lack of funding from the host institution must be given.

6.     For international applications; you must have a valid passport with expiry date at least 3 months after the conference. Please upload your passport when you apply.

7.     For international applications; all visa costs are your own responsibility and any additional personal costs whilst travelling or in the country are for your own account.
