Dear Sponsors and Supporters of Geocongress 2023

The Congress Organizing Committee, Stellenbosch University and the Geological Society of South Africa (GSSA) invite you to support Geocongress 2023 by becoming an event sponsor. A range of sponsorship options are available, and you would not only be building your brand by participating, but you would assist in making the meeting affordable and attractive to students in particular. The year 2020 was the 125th anniversary of the founding of both the GSSA and the Department of Earth Sciences at Stellenbosch, which is the oldest Geology Department in the country. We are pleased to belatedly celebrate both of these events with Geocongress 2023, scheduled for January 11 to January 13, aptly hosted at the Stellenbosch University Campus. Geocongress is a GSSA event traditionally staged every two years in partnership with a university campus, with the aim of offering a local forum to report research advances in a wide spectrum of the earth sciences, as well as providing networking opportunities for the research and professional community. 

A key objective is to keep the event as affordable as possible, to attract as many young researchers and students as possible. This can only be done with sponsor assistance, and the use of suitable but cost-effective campus venues. The Geocongress is also an important platform and an opportunity for those in research and industry to meet and be updated on the latest thinking.
