Oral presentations (In-Person)
- Please feel free to use the Speaker Template provided as a guideline for your presentation.(Click here to download)
- Oral presentations are 12 minutes with 3 minutes for Q&A. We suggest you limit your presentation to 10-12 slides in order to keep within this tight time frame. Your presentation slot will be strictly cut off by the Session Chair at the 15-minute mark to ensure that the program is kept on time.
- Ensure you check the programme so that you are aware of your assigned presentation time slot.
- Please upload a soft copy of your presentation the day before, or at least the morning or tea break before, with a technician in your allocated venue/room.
Oral presentations (Virtual)
- Please prepare a pre-recorded presentation of no longer than 14 minutes by the 4th January 2023. Instructions on where to upload will be emailed to you from the secretariat. This pre-recorded presentation will only be used in case there are issues with your online (real-time) attendance.
- Ensure you check the programme and log into the TEAMS link specific to the venue where you are speaking to join the meeting.
- Please be familiar with TEAMS such that you are ready to share your screen and present immediately during your allocated time slot (check programme beforehand). The links to the session will be sent to you in Early January. The technician will give you presenter rights and will allow your screen share, camera and microphone to be enabled only at the time of your talk.
Tips on recording your presentation:
- Record yourself using ZOOM.
- Screencast-o-matic is a free screen capture tool which allows you to record your screen and make it available as an MP4 file or upload it to a YouTube channel. It is an easy way to record your

- Microsoft 365 or older versions of Microsoft Powerpoint. You may narrate your PPT slide using Office 2010 or 2016. Microsoft 365 for Windows Powerpoint
Poster presentations (In-Person)
- The poster must be portrait in orientation
- A0 – 841mm (width) x 1189mm (height)
- Posters can be put up from 16:00 on Tuesday 10th January on the 2nd Floor of the Jan Mouton Learning centre. We will provide prestick in order for you to place your posters on the melamine boards. The boards will have labels with poster number and name of poster and presenting author.
- It is advisable to use a very thin laminate on your poster and not material prints as these tend to fall off.
- There will be a poster discussion session on Wednesday 11 January from 17:00, please ensure that you are available and standing at your poster during this session to enable delegates to connect and discuss your poster with you.
Virtual poster instructions
- Please prepare your poster as a one-page pdf document (no bigger than 4MB) which we will place on the Resource library on the networking app. Instructions on where to upload will be emailed to you from the secretariat and must be uploaded before the 4 Jan 2023.
- There is no formal presentation required but delegates have the opportunity on the app to contact you directly to discuss your poster with you.
