Biography

Dr. Anri Human currently holds the position of full-time Paediatrics lecturer in the Physiotherapy department of the University of Pretoria. She has presented at numerous local and international events, supervises undergraduate and postgraduate physiotherapy students, and has published in national and international peer reviewed journals. Her research interest is in the area of Paediatrics, especially respiratory management of children with neuromuscular disorders. Subsequently, she is involved in collaborative efforts with international centres and organisations including the European Neuromuscular Centre (ENMC), CureDuchenne (USA) and TREAT-NMD (Europe). Dr. Human serves on a number of national and international committees including the South African Society of Physiotherapy (SASP), Muscle Dystrophy Foundation of South Africa and the International Confederation of Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapists (ICCrPT). Dr. Human’s vision is to contribute and advance paediatric physiotherapy in South Africa and the African continent. This congress will be the ideal opportunity to strengthen relationships and enhance collaborative efforts to improve health-related quality of life for all children in Africa, since “the difference is in our hands!”
