VIB and BASF are offering you an exclusive opportunity to visit some of their facilities on Thursday, Nov 6, 2025.

Choose from two tour options designed to give you a first hand look at how plant biotech research is performed in containment facilities and on the field.

 Tour Options:

  • TOUR 1: Lab/Greenhouse Facility Tour: Discover the state-of-the-art laboratories @VIB and greenhouse facilities @BASF.
    • This tour includes a 5-10 minute walk between two buildings.
    • Maximum capacity: 30 participants
  • TOUR 2: Field Tour: Learn about the field trials with transgenic and genome edited plants with our field tour.
    • Please note that this tour is subject to weather conditions, so be sure to bring weather proof clothing and footware.
    • Maximum capacity: 25 participants

Timetable:

  • Boxed light lunch will be provided at ICC before departure
  • 13:00: Bus departs from ICC to Technologiepark Zwijnaarde (VIB) – 10-15 minute drive
  • 13:20 - 13:50: Welcome at VIB with presentations from BASF & VIB
  • 13:50: Group splits into three subgroups:
    • Tour 1: Group 1: Lab Visit VIB + GH Visit BASF
    • Tour 1: Group 2: GH visit BASF + Lab Visit VIB
    • Tour 2: Group 3: Field visit VIB - In case of inclement weather, VIB will organize an alternative visit within its buildings, possibly including the greenhouse(s) or one of the automated platforms.
  • 16:00 - 16:30: Joint Q&A at VIB
  • 16:30 - 17:00: Transfer back to ICC

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • All cancellations to registrations must be sent to Centeq Events by e-mail: ISBRsymposium@allevents.co.za
  • Cancellations received before August 4, 2025 will be fully refunded, less $50 for administrative costs. 
  • Cancellations received between August 4, 2025 and September 3, 2025 will be reimbursed 50% of the registration fee only. 
  • No refund will be made for cancellations received after September 3, 2025 or for any registered participants who fail to attend the conference. 
  • No refunds will be made due to the cancellation of a particular session or talk or to program changes. 

PAYMENT TERMS: All payments are to be received within 14 days from the date of the invoice.

Please note that any bank fees must be paid by the participant. Ensure all charges are for senders account when requesting the transfer from your bank. 

Any pending payments can be settled at the registration desk. In cases where a bank transfer payment or another method has not been received by the registration desk, you will be asked to provide proof of payment such as an advice bank slip. Otherwise, you will be requested to pay the pending amount.

Useful tips

Important notice: If paying by Bank transfer, any short payment resulting from bank charges and/or exchange rate fluctuations will be charged to the participant. In order to avoid the fluctuation charge/bank charge, we suggest payment be processed via the Online Portal or Paypal.

Clearly indicate the Invoice Number on bank transfers to facilitate the registration process. An official invoice will be emailed to you once you have completed your registration, indicating the bank account details.
