Summary
Terms and Conditions
  1. Delegates registering for the first time on the day of the event will be charged a premium fee of R9085 including VAT for the three-day Main Conference event, not applicable to Design Indaba Simulcast, to cover the additional administration costs of on-site registration.
  2. To qualify for any discounts to Design Indaba Conference, a purchase order number, your registration and payment must be provided and processed before Wednesday, 2 December 2015. If payment and or cancellation in writing is not confirmed by this date, registration will automatically convert to the Full Design Indaba fee of R8300 including VAT and delegate will be responsible for the payment in full. These discounts are not applicable to Design Indaba Simulcast categories. All discounts are only applicable to delegates who book and pay before the Wednesday, 2 December 2015. Alumni discounts are applicable to delegates who have attended two or more Full Design Indaba Conferences and are not applicable to Design Indaba Simulcast attendees. Academic discounts are applicable to delegates who are employed by registered educational institutions and not applicable to Design Indaba Simulcast attendees.
  3. Only one discount category is applicable per person, for Design Indaba Conference, these discounts are not applicable to Design Indaba Simulcast categories. For example, if the delegate qualifies for the Academic Discount (R7050.00) and pays before Wednesday, 2 December 2015 (Early Bird discount of R7050.00 cut-off date), only the cheaper of the two will apply, i.e. the delegate will pay R7050.00 including VAT for the registration.
  4. Delegates can register without payment to "reserve" a ticket. An invoice may be generated on the delegate registration page by using an access key emailed through to the address supplied as part of delegate information, after completion of the online registration process. Registration payment must be made by Wednesday, 13 January 2016. (This is with the exception of Early Bird and Alumni Discount tickets, whereby a purchase order number, your registration AND payment must be received by Wednesday, 2 December 2015). If payment or written confirmation of cancellation is not received by this date, the ticket is no longer "reserved" and your registration will no longer be present on the system. Reapplication to attend will result in the full Conference ticket price being applied with immediate payment due.
  5. Limited numbers of one-day tickets to the Main Conference are now available, and it is sold on first-come first-serve basis. Main Conference discounts are not applicable to the one day ticket rate. For delegates' own safety and security, NO SHARING OF ONE-DAY TICKETS WILL BE ALLOWED. The organisers and their appointed registration/security personnel reserve the right to refuse access on reasonable grounds.
  6. For delegates' own safety and security, NO SHARING OF FULL REGISTRATION WILL BE ALLOWED WITHOUT KNOWLEDGE OF THE ORGANISER. Approved sharing of a Full Design Indaba registration pass will incur a premium charge of 30% to accommodate admin involved, there will also be no additional discounts applicable to sharing tickets and payment on sharing tickets must be made no later than Wednesday, 13 January 2016. Sharing is limited to 2 delegates per pass. The organisers and their appointed registration/security personnel reserve the right to refuse access on reasonable grounds.
  7. Organisers reserve the right to implement an access and security control system that is in keeping with the security and health and safety regulations as deemed necessary by both the event organiser and the venue. Delegates are required to comply with the access control and security system. Failure to comply may result in delegates being denied access with no refund of registration fee.
  8. All group registrations are encouraged to register and pay before Wednesday, 13 January 2016 and if applicable provide a purchase order number to secure their tickets. This is to enable group delegates (minimum 10 delegates) to be eligible for pre-event off-site registration during the week of 8 – 11 February 2016, whereby bags and tees are to be collected at the Artscape on day of the event.
  9. Registrations will only be validated if purchase order numbers are provided and all monies are paid in full by no later than 02 February 2016.
  10. All cancellations must be received in writing, by no later than Wednesday, 13 January 2016. If received before Wednesday, 13 January 2016, a full refund will be given less a 15% administration fee. We recommend transfer of registration to a new delegate to avoid cancellation fee.
  11. No-shows or written cancellations after Wednesday, 13 January 2016 will result in full fees payment being due.
  12. In the event of a cancellation, registrations ARE transferable to delegates not yet registered.
  13. The conference website, www.designindaba.com, contains links to a number of other websites, provided for the convenience of the users. The contents of these websites are maintained by their owners, for which we take no responsibility, neither providing a link on our website means that we necessarily agree to their contents, nor are responsible for contents of any website linking to this website.
  14. Conference participants are responsible for taking appropriate insurance cover in connection with their attendance at the conference. The conference organisers and hosts or any individuals associated with the conference or hosts in any capacity shall not be liable for any kind of loss or damage to personal property, delegates or exhibitors.
  15. The information given in oral and poster presentations or at exhibitions in connection with the conference shall come from diverse sources and it is not in the capacity of the conference organisers or hosts to validate it. Therefore, the conference organisers or hosts accept no responsibility for the correctness of the information, and the conference organisers and hosts or any individuals affiliated with the conference in any capacity shall have no liability of any kind in any country or court of law.
  16. Neither the committee of the Conference, hosts nor Event Management Company accept liability for death, injury, any loss, cost of expense suffered or incurred by any person if such loss is caused or result from the act, default or omission of any person. In particular neither the committee of the Conference, hosts nor Event Management company can accept any liability for losses arising from the provision or non-provision of services provided by local companies or transport operators. Nor can the committee of the Conference, hosts nor Event Management company accept liability for losses suffered by reason of war, including threat of war, riots and civil strife, terrorist activity, natural disaster, weather, fire, flood, drought, technical, mechanical or electrical breakdown within any premises visited by delegates and/or partners in connection with the conference, industrial dispute, governmental action, regulations or technical problems which may affect the services provided in connection with the Conference.
  17. Neither the committee of the Conference, hosts nor Event Management company is able to give warranty that any particular person will appear as a speaker or panelist. Right of admission is reserved. Trade companies who do not exhibit at the Congress, may not enter the Conference-or exhibition area. All disputes are subject to resolution under South African law.
  18. Subject to the provisions of the CPA, Interactive Africa (Pty) Ltd retains the right to declare any deposit or payment forfeit and reserve the right to adjust and amend these terms and conditions at any time.

The Design Indaba will be taking place in Cape Town, South Africa from 17 – 19 February 2016.

Delivery policy

 

Subject to availability and receipt of payment, requests will be processed within 48 hours for registration payments.  These services will be delivered on arrival of the delegate in Cape Town, South Africa when they attend the congress.

Return and Refunds policy

 

The provision of registration bookings by Design Indaba is subject to availability.  Cancellation for registration bookings by the delegate will attract a 100% cancellation fee.  For the full terms and conditions related to cancellation of registration bookings, please visit (your website). Design Indaba makes no guarantees or warranties that the registration category requested will be available on booking.  All bookings are handled on a first come first serve basis.

Payment may be made via Visa or MasterCard credit cards or by bank transfer into the Congress bank account, the details of which will be provided on invoices and on request.


Credit card acquiring and security

 

Credit card transactions will be acquired for the Congress via PayGate (Pty) Ltd who are the approved payment gateway for Standard Bank of South Africa.  PayGate uses the strictest form of encryption, namely Secure Socket Layer 3 (SSL3) and no credit card details are stored on the website.  Users may go to www.paygate.co.za to view their security certificate and security policy. 


Customer details separate from card details
