Organ Perfusion and Oxygenationin the Sick Infant

11:45 AM - 12:15 PM

Biography

Elisabeth Kooi is a clinical neonatologist and associate professor in neonatology at the Beatrix Children’s Hospital, University Medical Center Groningen, The Netherlands. Her research interest lies in neonatal hemodynamics with a focus on multi-organ perfusion and oxygenation in sick newborns. A better understanding of neonatal organ perfusion and oxygenation will eventually lead to a reduction in organ injury and improve long term function and outcome for these vulnerable infants. Elisabeth Kooi is currently elected council member of the circulation section of the ESPR, and initiator of the European ‘3PR’ consortium that aims to prevent and improve care for necrotizing enterocolitis.
